I've been doing my own brows for the last couple of years, due to a couple of gruesome run-ins with people who completely fuckin' sucked at doing brows.
There is one person that I've allowed to do my brows that ACTUALLY did a great job, and guess what?
He was a heterosexual man.
Wild, right?
Anyways ...
I am very sensitive when it comes to the caterpillars on my face ...so I'll NEVER let anyone touch my brows again. Ever.
When I do my brows, I use 3 things:
A blade, brow brush/pencil, scissors.
When I first started doing my brows, I would go to the guy who initially did my brows...let him shape them, and I'd just use tweezers to keep the shape ...just to get a feel for maintaining them.
I did get them waxed a couple of times, but I don't trust wax ...it can irritate or burn your skin, and takes longer for them to grow back ..say someone messes them up. No thanks.
Then, I graduated to using razors ...razors can be tricky, and dangerous ...but if you want to start using razors ...go to somoene that is GREAT at doing brows, and use the razor to get those stray hairs, and tweezers to pluck the stubborn ones.
If you're learning, you can always buy a really dark eyeliner, draw the shape you want ON your brows, and just tweeze/razor any excessive brow hair outside of the lines you draw.
Eventually, you'll get the hang of it, and you'll be saving $10-$20 bucks instead of having some weirdo to hover over your face.

Eyebrows are tedious, and I encourage everyone to teach themselves how to do them.
